Welcome to English in Action

 

English in Action will provide the communicative English needed to transform the lives of people in Bangladesh and make a major contribution to the economic development of the country.


English in Action will increase the number of people able to participate fully in economic activity. It will do so by improving English language communicative skills. It will look to change the lives of up to 25 million people using new approaches to teaching and learning.

In schools innovative teaching and learning methods, including the use of audio technology, will be developed to support learning. All these methods will be linked to the Government of Bangladesh's school curriculum, school textbooks and assessment procedures. The Project will also use television and mobile telephones to increase access to learning materials for adults, and decrease barriers to their learning English.
