A two-week survey on Baseline 3 is being conducted by Teacher Development Coordinators (TDCs) with guidance by the Open University, UK in seven EIA project working areas. This study aims at understanding the existing methods in which English language is taught in Bangladeshi schools with close observation of the classroom environment, through the observation of actual teaching and learning in classrooms. The study looks at English teaching and learning by students in both primary and secondary schools. More than 200 classroom observations will be conducted during the period of two weeks ending February 12th 2009.
