A three-day retreat of English in Action (EIA) project was held from 14 to 16 December 2008 in Hotel Lakeshore, Dhaka. EIA plan of action for the next year has been strategized through this retreat. The first day’s sessions of the retreat included presentations from EIA partners, discussion on EIA present status and the project’s vision, mission and underlying philosophies and approaches.

On the second day of the retreat, two presentations and discussions on primary interventions for EIA and BBC adult learning were held respectively. A discussion on EIA communication strategy was also held this day.

The agenda for third day’s retreat was Project Steering Committee meeting. Facilitated by John Shotton, Director, EIA, the participants of the retreat were DFID, EIA base technical teams, Open University, UK, BBC WST, and EIA’s Bangladeshi partners: UCEP and FIVDB.
